In every walk of life, there’s a moment in time where everyone has to choose what’s more important—self interest or morality. This book delves into life events that make us human with frailty. It also demonstrates strength and resilience. The plot is captivating and flows very seamlessly between chapters. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading! I appreciated the author’s conscious decision to build up the characters early on. This really helped set the stage for the rest of the book. I can’t wait to read more of Brother Greg’s adventures!
This book was very different that I thought going in to it. I didn't realize where the story was going. It unfolded differently than you would think. I did find it interesting and it kept my interest. Good read overall.
Gerard F Dunn describes Brother Greg in The Rose of St. Rita with the words, “Greg was born into a dysfunctional single-parent household. He was shy and unpopular in high school, only wanting to blend into the background. Robert was his only friend. Whose mother and Lola (grandmother) made Greg feel loved and wanted. Greg finally finds the courage to speak to a girl in class, sparking a budding romance.” Pretty innocuous character until a Stranger came into Greg’s life and threatened to harm him and his mother unless he cooperated with him to steal the Rose of St. Rita, and with that, Greg’s life changed totally.
The Author paces the story very well, keeping readers focused on the story, and the dark mystery slowly engulfs them, keeping them turning the pages. The captivating story ends with a twist that makes it even more remarkable.
This book kinda put me in mind of a Angel vs the devil or God against Satan it makes u understand more of the saying be careful what u wish for or let's say be careful how u treat people be careful what goes around come around for a while I kept trying to figure out who this stranger was in this book and the Rose of St Rita now after reading this book I'm feeling like The stranger was God or a Angel telling them what they need to do to succeed to survive to make it in life and when u do what u want or go against his rules bad things happen either way I really enjoyed reading this book keep it coming part 2 me please
